Learning Center
Wheeling Senior Learning Center Computer Classes for 2010 and are held at the
Pavilion Center, 199 N. First St, Wheeling, IL. Course

The cost is $5 per session plus annual $5 registration for
members, $10 for non members. Windows XP is used in the
classroom. If you have a laptop with Vista or Windows 7, please
bring your laptop to class.
The Beginners Course: (4 sessions)
This hands-on class introduces you to the mouse, keyboard,
navigation, terminology, and other basics. No previous experience
necessary.
BUGS - Beginners User Group for Seniors Mondays 1pm to
3:30pm:
This program is free to members of Wheeling Pavilion Senior Center.
Information regarding membership to the Senior Center is available at
the front desk. Instructor works one on one to help you with your
computer problems.
Files and Folders: (4 sessions)
Have you ever created a file or folder and found it difficult to find
it again. This class will each you how to create multiple folders and
how to organize your files.
Internet and E-Mail: (4 sessions)
Learn how to set up an email account, send and receive and save
messages. Learn how to use a browser to explore the worldwide web. Must
have prior computer knowledge.
Basic Microsoft Word: (4 sessions)
Using Microsoft Word, this course helps you use your computer for
writing letters and other tasks. The course will cover using menus
and toolbars, techniques to rearrange and correct your writing and print
your work, change fonts, color, size and style.
Digital Camera: 1 Download Pics (2 sessions) 2 Pic Fix (2
sessions)
In this class you will learn how to transfer photos from your
camera, a scanner or CD, and learn how to adjust color, remove
“red eye,” change background, add text and other features.
Scanning: (1 session)
A demonstration of how to set up and use your own scanner, with the
opportunity to scan a photo or document.
Flash Drive: (1 session)
Learn the proper use of the Flash Drive, also called a Memory Stick
or Thumb Drive, to save files and back up your home computer.
Computer Maintenance: (1 session)
Performing routine “housekeeping” tasks can help your computer run
more efficiently.
