Buffalo Creek Streambank Stabilization
Project - Phase I
Phase I of the Buffalo Creek Streambank Stabilization Project
has been substantially completed and was celebrated in a
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on November 6, 2009. This $2.5
million dollar project was made possible by the joint efforts
and grant funding from Federal and State governments and the
Village of Wheeling. State legislators, local agencies,
and residents also helped bring this project to fruition. This
project has stabilized the eroding banks of Buffalo Creek,
improved water quality and aquatic habitat, and beautified the
adjacent area.
