Teen Driving Laws

The Wheeling Police Department is working hard to make sure parents and teens know about the current laws and the changes that took place January 1, 2008. Illinois now has one of the most comprehensive Graduated Drivers License programs in the country.

The Wheeling Police Department has held many formal seminars to educate parents and teens about the changes in the law.  These seminars saw partnerships between the Wheeling Police Department, Illinois Secretary of State's office, Wheeling High School Drivers Education department, Illinois State Police, the Wheeling Fire Department and the Allstate Corporation.

Please call the Traffic Unit at (847) 459-2649 if you have any questions or concerns. You can also visit the Secretary of State's web site at www.cyberdriveillinois.com
