Driveways, Patio and Sidewalk Permit

Please bring the following items to the Community Development Department located at 2 Community Boulevard  to obtain a driveway, patio, and/or sidewalk Construction Permit from the Village of Wheeling:

 1.      Completed Application for Construction Permit 
 
 2.      Plat of Survey.

 3.     Contractor's estimate  which clearly adheres to Village specifications. Click on the following links to view the spec sheets:
        ( Asphalt Concrete  ,  Paver Brick , Service Walks & Patios , Cold Weather Concrete Specifications ).

 4.    $29.00 Driveway, Patio and/or Sidewalk Permit Fee.
        3.5% of the Contractors Estimate for Parking Lot Repairs, etc.

 5.    All Contractors must provide:
            1) Proof of Liability Insurance ($500,000/Person and 1,000,000/occurence)
            2) Proof of Workers' Compensation Insurance
            3) $10,000 Surety Bond

Note: Homeowners acting as their own contractor must post a $1,000.00 Parkway Restoration Deposit Check (or Insurance Surety Bond) in lieu of the Contactor's Insurance and Bond.

Please bring the above items to Community Development, located at 2 Community Boulevard (Directly west of the former Village Hall at 255 W. Dundee Road) 

Permits are not issued over the counter.  Inspection and Plan Review are required prior to issuance.  This process generally takes 5-7 business days.

Office hours are 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
