Services > Community DevelopmentContractor RequirementsContractors who work within the Village must be registered with the Community Development Department at the Village of Wheeling. Registration shall be accomplished by providing the name of the business, type of contracting activity, business address, evidence of relevant State of Illinois issued or mandated license or registration, telephone number and name of principal. Evidence of Surety Bond ($10,000.00) and Certificate of Insurance is also required (Commercial General Liability Insurance $500,00 per person and $1,000,000 per occurrence covering liability arising from premises operations, independent contractors, products completed operations, and personal injury). Workers' Compensation Insurance is required in the amounts and coverage required by Illinois law. Registration may be accomplished at the time of application of a permit.
