Wheeling Referendum Question

Wheeling residents will be asked to vote on the following referendum question:
 
“Shall the Village of Wheeling have the authority to arrange for the supply of electricity for its residential and small commercial retail customers who have not opted out of such program?”
 
This is the only Wheeling-related item on the ballot. Wheeling offices are not up for election again until April 2013.

Voter Registration:

The regular registration period will end Tuesday, February 21st. Grace-period registration is open February 22 – March 13, 2012 at the Cook County Clerk’s office downtown or at any of the five suburban mini-centers. The closest center to Wheeling is the Rolling Meadows Courthouse (2121 Euclid Ave Room 238, Rolling Meadows).
 
Grace period registrants will either vote on touch screen voting equipment immediately after registering or by absentee paper ballot.
 
Grace period registrants are not eligible to vote at the polls on Election Day or take part in Early Voting.

Mail-In Absentee Ballots:

Any registered suburban Cook County voter may apply for an absentee ballot. It is no longer necessary to provide a reason. To obtain an absentee application visit www.voterinfonet.com or the Wheeling Village Hall. Once an application has been submitted to Cook County, a ballot will be mailed to your home address. Absentee ballots must be postmarked by March 19, 2012.

In-Person Voting:

In-Person Absentee Voting takes place March 16 – 19, 2012 at the Cook County Clerk’s office downtown or at any of the five suburban mini-centers.  The closest location to Wheeling is the Rolling Meadows Courthouse (2121 Euclid Ave Room 238, Rolling Meadows).

Early Voting:

Early voting will take place February 27 – March 15, 2012. For a full list of early voting locations visit www.voterinfonet.com. The closest location to Wheeling is the Wheeling Township Office (1616 N. Arlington Hts. Rd, Arlington Heights). Remember to bring a government

Note:  Voting location for Precinct 93 will be at Village Hall - 2 Community Boulevard (2nd Floor) , Wheeling, IL. 60090.  Directional signs will be posted. Hours for voting are 6am to 7pm.
