Government > Board of TrusteesPatrick Horcher, Trustee
Length of Service...Elected April 1995. Birthplace...Elgin. Family...Wife Stacey; children Asher and Patrick. Occupation...Greenhouse Production. Education...High school and college courses as required to succeed. I’ve lived in Wheeling...35 years. I ran for public office to...provide a voice of common sense and business sense to the board. My political aspiration is to be...done. My aspirations are not political. I want to guide Wheeling to a more progressive path and allow it then to flourish. Before I was a trustee, I...minded my own family businesses until local politics inflicted itself onto them. The slap in the face that awakened me from my political apathy was ultimately responsible for encouraging me to run. The most important thing I do as a trustee is...use the diverse field of experiences I have acquired in determining policies for the Village. I would like people to remember me for...exercising and possibly also for defending personal/property rights. The accomplishment I’m most proud of is...my children. My favorite Village event is...anything where I meet the people. The thing I like best about Wheeling is...diversity. My favorite place in Wheeling is...family greenhouses in spring. My idea of a great day is...traveling, seeing new places and things. Three words that best describe me...diplomatic, patient, introverted. I wish I had more time to...be with my kids, read, sculpt, carve, draw. I belong to...the Cook County Farm Bureau. My favorite charity is...anything for children. People who know me well say I’m...open minded. The last good book I read was...Lost Rights by James Bovard. My favorite quotation is..."Make something happen."
