Family… Bill Hein has been a resident of our community since 1955. One son & two daughters attended Wheeling schools.

Length of Service… Bill was a volunteer firefighter, and also served on the Board of Fire & Police Commissioners. Bill became its chairman before being appointed to Village Trustee by Village President Ted Scanlon. Bill was Village President in 1977–1981. Bill retired from village politics and attended family business. Bill is now serving a two year term as Village Trustee.

Occupation and interests… Bill & the Hein family have been involved in many businesses throughout the years. Bill was the primary developer of Riverside Plaza on Milwaukee Ave and a family-run auto parts store and pub & liquor store. He is also vice president of the Wheeling Historical Society. He is also founder of the Wheeling Farm Stand Market.
