Dean S. Argiris, Trustee

Length of Service: I served as a Plan Commissioner from 1997 to 2001, and was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2001.  I also represent the Village of Wheeling on the boards of directors of Chicago Executive Airport and the Regional Emergency Dispatch (RED) Center.

Birthplace: Chicago, Illinois

Family: I’ve been married to my wife, Marian, since 1981; we have a son, Sam, and a daughter, Alexandra.

Occupation: Mortgage & Insurance Broker.

Education: I attended Maine East High school (Class of 1977) and Oakton Community College, and I am a graduate of Worsham Mortuary Science School, now located in Wheeling.

I’ve lived in Wheeling . . . since June of 1990.

I ran for public office to . . . serve the community in which I live, and to make a difference for all that live and work here.

The most important thing I do as a trustee is . . . always try to do my homework regarding issues that can impact the Village of Wheeling, and to vote in the best interest of our residents and business owners.

My favorite Village event is . . . Village Board meetings; they give me a sense of accomplishment. I also enjoy the holiday festival and 4th of July events.

My favorite place in Wheeling is . . . There are many: Friendship Park, Restaurant Row, Chicago Executive Airport, Chevy Chase, Heritage Park, and our neighborhoods, to name a few.

When I’m not working, I like to . . . spend time with my family and friends

I belong to . . . Saint Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church in Glenview, the Wheeling Historical Society, and the Wheeling / Prospect Heights Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
