Wheeling Pavilion Senior Center

Our mission is to provide an open door, caring environment for older adults through participating in challenging intellectual, social, physical and community-service activities and programs.  Our goal is to maintain health independence and health for quality longevity.

The Wheeling Pavilion Senior Center is

Services

• AARP Tax Assistance - (by appointment only during Tax season.  Taxes prepared by AARP Tax Assistance volunteers for low income older adults)

• Annual Flu Shots - (Provided in October of each year.  Cost of $25 or you can have Medicare billed)

• Computer Classes

• Blood Pressure Checks - Blood Pressure Checks Wheeling Township nurse Karen McNeir is at Pavilion the 1st Thursday of the month at 11:30AM or BP readings are taken at the Wheeling Fire Department, 255 W. Dundee Mon.-Fri. 8:00AM-1:00PM.

• Driver Refresher Classes - AARP two day class or Secretary of State’s free refresher class for seniors renewing their driver’s license offered periodically.  Check calendar of events for classes.

• Handicapped Permit Application - available at the reception desk of Pavilion.

• Library Lending Program - Indian Trails Library at Pavilion Senior Center Wed. 9:30-10:00AM. & Wheeling Tower Wed. 10:30AM-11:00AM. Come and meet our Librarian Abida Salahuddin.

• Medical Form Sssistance (SHIP) - SHIP is a state sponsored counseling service provided at no charge by IL Dept of Insurance to guide you through problems with Medicare and Supplemental Insurance forms.  Our representative is available by appointment to answer all of your questions.

• Medical Lending Closet - Medical equipment is available for loan (for up to 6 months) to all Village residents or Pavilion members.  Call Pavilion at (847) 459-2670 with your needs.

• Podiatrist Services - Dr. Nikola Ivancevic, D.P.M. will be at Pavilion Senior Center to provide foot care. Call Lori at
  (630) 782-6557 to schedule or change your ppointment.  NO DROP INS WILL BE SERVICED.

• RTA Application - Seniors ride free on all RTA services on fixed routes (including CTA buses and rapid transit, Pace buses and Metra trains).  Apply at Pavilion - Bring proof of age and a passport type head size photo - 1½ x 1½ in color – Walgreen’s or CVS provide this service.

• Subsidized cab program - Discount for Wheeling seniors. $2.00 per ride/8 rides per month. Pre-registration is necessary

Wheeling resident $10.00/year (non-resident $15.00/year)
