Computer Classes

The SeniorNet program is offered to help adults 50 years and older learn computer skills in a friendly atmosphere.  A variety of courses are offered.  Each student is provided a computer to use.  Membership with the National SeniorNet program is encouraged (annual membership fee is $40.00) but not required.  Individual class fees are $35.00 which includes all class materials.  The Introduction to Computers or equivalent experience is required for all members to advance to other classes offered.

Registration for Session 1- 2009 of Computer Classes is  Monday thru Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm.  Classes begin January 9, 2009. Courses offered are: Beginners, Computer Uses, Digital Camera, E-Mail and Internet, Word Processing, and Seminars (Printing, Scanning, Shortcuts, File Extensions, Address Labels, Using Help, Task Launcher)

All of the instructors and coaches are Seniors just like the students. Courses are one 2 hour class per week for 8 weeks
(except Computer Basics).  All material is furnished and Senior Center membership and Wheeling residency are not required.

Courses are step-by-step, "hands-on", taught and coached by Senior Volunteers.  Open lab time where students may use computers to practice their skills is also offered.  Class size is limited to 6 students.  Day and evening classes are 2 hours per week, for 8 weeks. 
       
Cost of the Program:

National SeniorNet Membership (1 year) $40.00 
Membership is encouraged but NOT required.

Class Fees:      $40.00

First Seminar taken is $10.00, with additional Seminars $5.00 each.
                        
Class Materials (varies with each class) 

*Refunds are only given prior to the start of the class. 
Current National SeniorNet members pay only local  
class & fees.

SeniorNet is an international non-profit organization designed to teach our Senior Citizens the ways of computers and the Internet.  It is a program taught by volunteer Seniors, in small classes, at a speed and language that Seniors can understand 
and follow.
